“A 54-year-old man from Warsaw who, following a road traffic accident, had his right leg amputated above the knee. Initially, he walked with a prosthesis fitted with a traditional socket, but he found it uncomfortable. He therefore began looking for an alternative solution and, in 2021, underwent osseointegration surgery, which significantly improved his quality of life. Today, he is fully independent, uses his prosthesis all day long and drives a car. He is a happy husband and father of two daughters. He returned to work just six months after the accident and works in the sale and distribution of food products. Thanks to the support of the PBR 2026 athletes, he will take part in a post-amputation rehabilitation stay, which will enable him to strengthen the relevant muscle groups and improve his fitness."
