On September 4th the Poland Business Run will start for the 11th time! This year we have prepared for you a competition in Krakow for 2 thousand relay teams (10 thousand runners) and a virtual competition on a chosen route. By taking part in the relay in both forms, as usual, you will support our beneficiaries in financing prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs and rehabilitation. Registration starts on 10th May.
The opportunity to integrate employees in a noble cause has motivated companies to participate in the Poland Business Run for years. Last year's edition, due to the pandemic, was conducted in a virtual form and gathered over 28 thousand participants, and we were able to support 128 beneficiaries.
This year we have prepared for you two options to participate in the competition.
- The run on a self-selected route, proposed by us during the pandemic, met with a very enthusiastic response from companies, which invited colleagues from different parts of the world to run and help. For many people, this form also meant not having the stress associated with competing in traditional competitions. On the other side, of course, were those who longed for a sporting event with professional timing. We analysed the moods of our participants and decided to prepare both options so that everyone could choose the best one for themselves, comments Marta Hernik, the Managing Director of the Poland Business Run Foundation.
On September 4, the Poland Business Run 2022 will be held in two modes: in any place in the world, choosing the option of virtual competition, or in Krakow as part of the traditional running competition with a limit of 2,000 relay teams (10,000 participants). In both cases the distance for each competitor is 4 km.
- Run in Krakow is an offer for those who want to feel the atmosphere of a sports competition. We will run in two rounds of 1000 teams (5000 runners) and the time measurement will be carried out by a professional company. The virtual run, on the other hand, is an opportunity to run 4 km without any pressure and along a chosen route, in Poland or anywhere we are on September 4th. All you have to do is measure your time using an application with GPS function and send it to us via the website - explains Marta Hernik.
Registration for all runners will start on May 10 and will last until May 31 or until the limit of places is reached (in case of the Run in Krakow). Until August 31 you will be able to sign up by choosing a virtual starting package.
By paying for their employees' participation in the Run, the companies will help, among others, 37-year-old Dominika from Łódź, who had her leg amputated due to illness and needs a prosthesis. The new equipment will allow her to move freely in her apartment, located on the fourth floor of a tenement house, and in the long term to return to activity and work.
People with physical disabilities and after mastectomy, who need rehabilitation, prostheses, wheelchairs or psychological assistance and would like to become beneficiaries of the Poland Business Run can still send in their application for support.
