Results of the PBR 2024 survey of runners

18.10.2024

It's a sure thing - the 14th edition of the Poland Business Run will take place on September 7, 2025! This year, 41,600 runners from more than 1,700 companies ran with us to help 150 people with physical disabilities and after mastectomy. How many people will run in the next edition of the PBR? We'll find out next year! In the meantime, we encourage you to read the survey results from the runners participating in this year's edition.

Surveys of PBR 2024 participants show that 86% of them will take part in the next edition of the stationary or virtual competition. 54% of this year's relay runners were taking part in our race for the first time, while as many as 44% were competing in the Poland Business Run for the next time. We are extremely pleased that runners return to us, wanting to run and help, as well as that more people join our charitable initiative.

What motivates you to run?

For most participants, the biggest motivation is still to support a charitable cause, as evidenced by opinions such as: “The main mission of the run is to support people with disabilities, especially amputees, which gives the event a deeper meaning. Being able to provide real help to those in need makes this run special.” In addition, employees from companies and corporations want to integrate, as well as have a cool and active time in the picnic and chill zone in Krakow.

Interestingly, the dominant group of runners (74%) participating in the survey is between 27 and 45 years old, similar to last year. Younger participants are more likely to take part in stationary running, while older participants are more likely to take part in virtual running. The trend reverses around the age of 40. According to the survey, women are more likely to choose a virtual run, prioritizing convenience and flexibility, while men are more likely to prefer a stationary run, valuing the atmosphere and live competition. Regardless of the chosen formula, it is thanks to your motivation that we can help on such a scale!

Run from your favorite place in the world

Once again, male and female runners particularly appreciated the opportunity to run their distance as part of a virtual run. According to the survey, the group most represented (72%) is made up of employees working for a large company (more than 250 people). Often they do not work in one place, but in branches scattered all over the country and the world - “a large company can run regardless of location, which results in greater involvement.” Virtual competition is an opportunity to integrate and get to know one's co-workers and provides participants with flexibility, accessibility, and greater freedom.

Participants also emphasized that the virtual run provides an opportunity to support the charity, even if they are not able to physically participate or are not avid runners, as evidenced by such words as: “The opportunity to run virtually, which gives you the freedom to choose the time and place. This allows us to meet with co-workers where it suits us, and have a nice time while taking part in the charity event.” This shows us once again that what we have been doing for 12 years makes sense!

What will September 7, 2025 bring us?

The Poland Business Run charity relay is an event that has become a permanent fixture on the running calendar. This year's edition was a record-breaker in terms of the number of participants, partners and sponsors, volunteers, attractions in the running town in Jordan Park in Krakow, the number of children participating in PBR Kids, and the scale of assistance. We are very pleased to see such a strong commitment from companies and runners! We hope to break more records together next year!

See you next year!
