NFT medal for every runner!

22.08.2023

We have an absolute news for each of the more than 36,000 runners from companies and corporations who will take part in the Poland Business Run on September 3! All participants in the run will receive medals in the form of NFTs. The token issue is the result of cooperation between the Poland Business Run Foundation and KIR (National Clearing House).

An NFT token is a digital certificate that proves the right to own an asset, which is stored in blockchain technology. Among others, the organizers of the Buenos Aires Marathon have already taken advantage of this option, providing their runners with 8500 NFT medals. As part of the Poland Business Run, for the first time in the world, more than 36,000 blockchain-enabled medals will be created for each participant in the charity relay.

"The Poland Business Run medal allows us to honor the commitment of runners who join together in teams of 5 and give their all to help the beneficiaries of the run. Some participants have been collecting traditional medals for many editions. Today, we can invite them into the world of new technologies, offering a personalized medal that has never been seen before!" - emphasizes Agnieszka Pleti, president of the Poland Business Run Foundation.

The use of blockchain technology makes each NFT medal unique, and the certificate confirming the authenticity of the medal is securely stored on the National Blockchain Network, maintained by KIR. KIR has been supporting the Poland Business Run for years, fielding teams in the relay, and is now also preparing tokens for the runners.

"In just a few days, the next edition of the Poland Business Run will start. This one-of-a-kind charity run holds a special place in the calendar of the KIR team and the Cyberium Foundation, says Wojciech Pantkowski, Vice President of the KIR Board. - We are running for the fifth time to raise funds for those in need of support. And in addition, we are extremely pleased to be able to give the runners a memento of their participation in the event in the form of a digital medal. This is the first such initiative in the world of organized running in Poland," he adds.

Those who have signed up for the Poland Business Run and will complete the distance of the run in Krakow or in a virtual competition on September 3 will receive individual links to a personalized medal, which they just need to download. Each NFT medal will have unique data, including the runner's number and finishing time.
