This is how the Poland Business Run 2023 charity run, which took place on September 3, is presented in numbers. This is the 12th edition of the competition, moreover, a record one in terms of the number of participants.

Poland Business Run 2023, as last year, was held in Krakow and in a virtual formula. Each runner of the 5-person relay covered the distance of the run for a good cause.

Another record

The Poland Business Run Foundation is celebrating another success. This year nearly 36,500 representatives of companies and corporations signed up for the charity relay. This is more than 4,000 more than last year.

'Every year more companies join us, ready to run and help. With each new edition you surprise us, for which we thank you very much. And thanks to the fact that more and more people join our initiative, we can really help take the first steps on a prosthesis, provide comfortable and individually fitted wheelchairs, finance equipment for athletes with disabilities and provide rehabilitation after amputation and mastectomy, which is precious', said Agnieszka Pleti, president of the Poland Business Run Foundation, during the event.

Around the world

Some of the runners of the Poland Business Run 2023 met in Cracow, where they passed the baton in the change zone and competed against other runners in a traditional relay competition. Others ran with the app and throughout Sunday could be found on popular running paths, not only in Poland, but also in other countries.

'9,000 people ran in an organized race in Krakow, and another 2,500 people also ran in the capital of Malopolska, but on their own route with the app. There were also 5,000 runners virtually in Warsaw, 5,000 in Katowice and Silesia, 2,500 in Poznan, and almost 2,000 in Lodz. A very large number of companies also signed up in Wroclaw, Tri-City or Lublin. Other relays competed in smaller Polish towns and cities and in other countries, even as far away as Canada, the USA, Singapore, China or Malaysia', comments Marta Hernik, Managing Director of the Poland Business Run Foundation.

The results of the virtual competition are still being verified, but we already know the fastest teams of the run in Krakow. First place went to Manufaktura Mieszkań Poznań, second place - #AdamCzerwińskiTeam, third place - STATE STREET 1. The fastest female relay team was Czerwiński's Angels.

In the capital of Małopolska, after the start, the runners integrated during a picnic in Jordan Park, where the organizers and sponsors of the event prepared an extensive range of attractions, including a concert by Nick Sinckler, a chillout zone, contests with prizes, photo booths and food trucks. There was also a short-distance children's run, with some 300 participants.

You run - you help

It is already known that the funds raised from the running fees have helped 94 amputees and others with mobility problems and mastectomies, and more applications from beneficiaries are being processed. So far, 19 prosthetic limbs, 16 wheelchairs or other equipment, and 71 rehabilitation stays after amputation and mastectomy have been subsidized.

Among the beneficiaries of the Poland Business Run is 9-year-old Edgar from Malopolska, who is struggling with chronic osteomyelitis. Thanks to a new orthosis and rehabilitation, he will be able to fight for health and fitness. Sylwia from the Warsaw area, who was injured in an accident and suffered a fractured spine, received a new, extremely lightweight wheelchair thanks to the Poland Business Run runners, which allowed her to compete in the relay in Cracow side by side with the runners.

Strategic Sponsors of the run are the companies: UBS, Standard Chartered and Enea. The next edition of the Poland Business Run, which was a great celebration of running and helping, in September 2024.
