Help More action with BLIK! Check out the number!
Today we are launching the Help More action, the rules of which are even simpler than in previous years! You don't have to run to be part of the Poland Business Run initiative! Thanks to our cooperation with BLIK, now anyone can donate any amount to the Foundation's. All you need to do is make a BLIK phone transfer - 519 815 815
We already have 60 beneficiaries of the Poland Business Run 2023, and applications for funding are constantly coming in. The final number of people we will help this year depends on the funds raised from the run and the Help More campaign. Therefore, we invite you to help by BLIK!
- We are happy that thanks to BLIK we can invite more people to support our idea and build a multidimensional relay of help, not only in the literal, running sense. We believe that thanks to such a simple solution we will be able to help even more together, in keeping with the name of the campaign. And the needs are great, as there are more and more amputees in Poland every year, comments Agnieszka Pleti, President of the Poland Business Run Foundation.
According to the National Health Fund, almost 11,500 limb resection procedures were performed in Poland in 2021. Significantly, amputations as a result of injuries and accidents account for only 1 in 10 cases. Most patients lose a limb due to chronic diseases, such as atherosclerosis or diabetes. The number of other amputations - mastectomy procedures - is also increasing. Breast cancer is currently the most common malignant tumour among women in Poland. According to the data, in 2020, the number of cases exceeded 24 000. This is an increase of 10 000 in 20 years. Patients who have won against cancer face, among other things, pain or swelling in their hand and need rehabilitation. The Poland Business Run helps just such cases by subsidising prostheses, wheelchairs, rehabilitation or psychological support. In total, almost 900 people have been supported since the first edition of the run.

BLIK is a tool thanks to which, in line with our motto, we can Live More, but also Help More! In addition, we have also become involved in the Poland Business Run in terms of running - we are the main partner and are staging our own company relay! - comments Krzysztof Ziewiec, director of the marketing and PR department of Polski Standard Płatności, the operator of BLIK.
Who are we helping this year?
The money collected from participation fees and the Help More action will help, among others, Robert, who suffered a serious accident while working in a mine - he lost his leg at thigh height. Today he is fighting to return to full fitness. Support in the form of rehabilitation after breast amputation due to cancer will be given to Jolanta. A new wheelchair will go to 17-year-old Mykola, who fled the war in Ukraine and started to develop his sporting skills in Poland - training in parabox and wheelchair basketball.
